A compelling documentary series, “Majorette Dreams,” is set to shine a spotlight on the vibrant world of UK and Irish majorette troupes, led by the extraordinary 40-year dedication of Halewood resident Albert Orme. Produced by Liverpool-based KPM TV and filmmaker David Longstaffe, this 3 x 60-minute series aims to counter the negativity often seen on television, celebrating community, dedication, and the pursuit of dreams.

What started out as managing local troupe’s has now become a beacon of inspiration around the world, Liverpool troupe’s compete against the best in Great Britain and Ireland.

Filmed over seven years, “Majorette Dreams” follows Albert Orme as he guides troupes to his prestigious Great British Majorette Championships at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom. “Albert’s work has given thousands of young people a sense of belonging,” says David Longstaffe. “This series captures the tears, the triumphs, and the unwavering spirit of these incredible athletes, we self-invested in the series production but without a TV acquisition we need some funding.”

Featuring celebrity judges like Pasha Kovalev, Lisa George, Mikey North, Ashley Taylor Dawson, and George Sampson, the series offers an intimate look into the lives of troupes from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dublin, Merseyside, and Guernsey. “We believed in this story from the beginning,” Longstaffe explains. “Despite rejections from major broadcasters because the show was too positive, we refuse to let this powerful story go untold.”

Albert Orme adds, “Majorette dancing is more than just a sport; it’s a lifeline for many. This series captures that essence perfectly.”

Seeking Ed Sheeran’s Support:

The filmmakers are seeking the support of Ed Sheeran, whose music is featured throughout the series. With strong connections to Dublin and a great underdog story, they believe his involvement would help bring “Majorette Dreams” to a global audience.

Crowdfunding Campaign:

To complete final production and promotion, the team is launching a crowdfunding campaign to raise £30,000.
