 “A 40-year majorette dedication, a star-studded documentary, and a desperate plea to Ed Sheeran – that’s the story behind ‘Majorette Dreams.”

Liverpool, UK – 2025, A passionate team of filmmakers, led by David Longstaffe of Longstaffe Media and producer at KPM TV Liverpool, is launching a crowdfunding campaign to bring “Majorette Dreams,” a 3 x 60-minute entertainment documentary, to YouTube after facing rejections from major broadcasters. The series shines a spotlight on the vibrant and dedicated world of UK and Irish majorette troupes, including the extraordinary 40-year dedication of Albert Orme, a Knowsley (Halewood) resident.

David ‘series producer’ explains: We need Ed and his music management onboard so we can clear YouTube music, Ed and Majorette’s are a perfect match and Ed loves to support underdog stories, and we want the troupes and Albert to get the exposure the deserve. “Albert Orme’s work has given thousands of young people a sense of belonging, a place to shine. ‘Majorette Dreams’ captures the tears, the triumphs, and the unwavering spirit of these incredible athletes.”

His unwavering commitment is a cornerstone of “Majorette Dreams,” which captures the intense competition and heartfelt stories of troupes as they battle for glory at the prestigious Great British Majorette Championships at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

“Majorette Dreams” offers an intimate look into the lives of majorette troupes from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dublin, Merseyside & Guernsey, displaying their dedication, challenges, and unwavering pursuit of victory. The series highlights the power of community, teamwork, and dreams, all under the watchful eye of celebrity judges including Pasha Kovalev, Lisa George, Mikey North, Ashley Taylor Dawson, and George Sampson.

“We believed in this story from the beginning,” says David Longstaffe. “We’ve seen firsthand the positive impact these troupes have on their communities, providing a vital outlet for young people and fostering a sense of belonging. Despite our efforts and the star-studded cast, major broadcasters didn’t see the potential we did. We refuse to let this powerful story go untold.”

This series captures that essence perfectly.” He began his journey in Woolton Village and now oversees regular events in Blackpool’s Norbeck Castle performance arena.
